How we work

People and culture work, delivered like a product.

We bring the discipline of product development to the work of building better businesses. That means understanding the problem before prescribing a solution, defining what needs to change, building in focused sprints and implementing something the business can actually use.

No open-ended projects. No recommendations left sitting in a shared drive. The right work, delivered with clear ownership and a defined outcome.

Knowing what needs to change is not the same as getting it done.

People and culture work can become open-ended. A review produces recommendations, but implementation falls back to an already stretched leadership team. Or a business invests in a solution before it has properly understood the problem.

Meanwhile, decisions stall, accountability blurs, managers escalate too much and good people struggle to do their best work.

Culture Craft was built around a different principle: move from understanding the problem to implementing a solution, with a clear line between the two.

Our delivery principles

1

Understand the problem before prescribing the solution

We start by understanding how the business really works, what is getting in the way and where the risks or opportunities sit. The Rapid System Read™ helps establish an evidence-led view before the business commits to a build.

What this means for you: a clearer view of what needs attention and why, before time and money are committed to the wrong work.

2

Define the outcome and the work

Product principles bring discipline to scope, priorities, sequencing and what “done” means. We agree what the work is intended to achieve and make the route towards it visible.

What this means for you: clearer expectations, a shared understanding of the outcome and fewer open-ended engagements.

3

Deliver in focused sprints

We break work into manageable increments, with decisions and progress visible as the work moves forward. This creates opportunities to learn, adjust and keep the work connected to business needs.

What this means for you: progress you can see, a practical working rhythm and less time waiting for a final report before anything changes.

4

Build with the business, not around it

The people who will use the system need to understand it and be involved in shaping it. We work alongside leaders and teams to develop solutions that reflect the real operating context.

What this means for you: stronger ownership and a better chance that the new way of working is used in practice.

5

Implement, then hand over something usable

The aim is not to leave the business with recommendations alone. We work towards an agreed outcome: a system, process, operating mechanism or other deliverable the business can use and own.

What this means for you: practical change, clear ownership and less dependency on external support to keep the work moving.

Why product principles belong in people and culture work

Complex product work has to balance outcomes, constraints, dependencies, adoption and delivery. People and culture work has the same challenge. A new process or operating model only creates value if it addresses the real problem, fits the business and works for the people who need to use it.

Lou completed Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) training after recognising that product principles offered a more disciplined way to deliver people and culture work. Those principles now inform how Culture Craft scopes, prioritises and delivers engagements.

The qualification is part of the story. What matters to clients is how the principles are applied: clearer scope, visible progress, purposeful collaboration and an emphasis on implementation.

A delivery model, not a label

Agile is not a badge we add to the work. Product principles are useful when they make the work clearer, more focused and more likely to be implemented.

The approach is adapted to the problem and context. Not every engagement looks the same, but every engagement should have a clear purpose, appropriate ownership and an agreed understanding of what it is there to achieve.
